Information for Authors of papers published in Scientific Journal of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW Problems of World Agriculture

  1. The Scientific Journal of Warsaw University of Life Science – SGGW Problems of World Agriculture, publishes scientific papers based on original research, compliant with the profile of the journal, in Polish and English.
  2. The manuscripts submitted, accepted by the Editor, will be subject to the double-blind peer review. If the manuscript is written in English at least one of the reviewers is affiliated with a foreign institution. The list of reviewers is published in the journal.
  3. The written review contains a clear reviewer’s finding for the conditions of a scientific manuscript to be published or rejected it (the review form can be found on the website of the journal).
  4. In order to prevent the “ghostwriting” and “guest authorship” the authors are requested to fill out and sign an Author’s Ethical Declarations (the declaration form can be found on the website of the journal).
  5. Authors have to send to the Editor text of the paper prepared according to the editorial requirements (editorial requirements can be found on the website of the journal as well as in prepared template “Template article”)  Author is responsible for the contents presented in the paper.
  6. The original version of the scientific journal issued is a print version. An electronic version is posted on line on the journal’s website.
  7. The authors of the papers contribute to the costs of printing (issuing).
  8. The journal is published quarterly. Each paper published in the Scientific Journal of Warsaw University of Life Science – SGGW Problems of World Agriculture receives 13 points (Decision from the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the list of scientific journals dated. Dec. 23, 2015).

Guidelines for Preparing Papers

The template for the paper can be downloaded from the website of the journal (Template article). The paper should be prepared with the use of Word editor in Polish or English, not exceeding 10 pages.

Editorial requirements

  1. Format A4, but upper and bottom margins 5.3 cm, left and right margins 4 cm, header 1.25 cm, footer 4.3 cm.
  2. Author’s name (bold) font size 10, Times New Roman (NTR), line space, author’s affiliation font size 10 pt. (align text to the left), author’s titles, postal and email addresses in the footnote,
  3. Title (bold), font Arial size 12. Line spacing above 24 and below 12 pts. (align text to the left),
  4. Required (up to 1000 characters) abstract and key words (font NTR). Word Abstract (in bold), followed by a dot, the text font size 8 pt., indentation left and right 0.7 cm, single line spacing, below spacing 12 points. Words Key words (in bold), followed by a colon, the text font size 8 pts., indentation left and right 0.7 cm, bellow spacing 12 points.
  5. Main body of the text: font NTR, font size 10, single line spacing, justified, first line in a paragraph indented 0.7 cm.
  6. Subtitles (bold) font Arial size 11, single line spacing, above 22 pts., below 11 pts., indentation left,
  7. Table captions font NTR, size 8, single spacing, line spacing above 12 pts., below 4 pts.
  8. Table contents font size 8, single line spacing, line spacing above and below 2 pts.
  9. Figure captions font NTR size 8, single line spacing, line spacing above 6 pts., below 4 pts.
  10. Figures in black and white or with varying texture, because the publication will be black and white. Figures should be supplied in a form suitable for further editing in commonly used software.
  11. Table or figure source font NTR size 8, line spacing above 4 pts., below 6 pts.
  12. Footnote text font NTR, justified, font size 8, single line spacing, align text to the left and right,
  13. Reference list font size 8, first line hanging by 0.7 cm. Reference list in the form: author’s name and first name initials [year]: title, journal no, pages. For books after title: publisher, place. For no-author items: title. [year]. editor (ed.), publisher, place. Multiple publications by the same author in one year marked by A, B, C etc. after year’s number.
  14. Cross references (references in the text to the literature) in the form of [author year] and for no-author items [title first word… year].
  15. Page numbers in footer, font size 11, centered.
