Overview of the Journal

The Journal publishes high-quality scientific papers based on original research, compliant with the profile of the journal. The journal is devoted to the social and economic problems of agro-food economy and rural development, mainly in the international aspect.

In particular, the contents cover the issues connected with:

  • development of agricultural markets and forecasting their parameters,
  • farm real estate markets,
  • international trade in food and agricultural products,
  • food and agricultural policies in countries all around the world, including Poland against the background of other EU countries,
  • global trends and challenges of food and agricultural products market,
  • agri-environmental measures and agri-environmental policy,
  • globalization and its impact on the agri-food system,
  • social relations and agricultural development,
  • relationship between natural environment and agriculture,
  • globalization and information management strategies,
  • economic and social relations between agriculture and other economic sectors.

Published since 1978, primarily irregularly, since 2007 as a quarterly and a series of the Scientific Journal of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. Each year one issue is published completely in English, the other three both in Polish and English. All articles written in Polish have English version of abstract and key words.  Each paper published in the Scientific Journal of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, series Problems of World Agriculture receives 13 points (Communication from the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the list of scientific journals dated. Dec. 23, 2015).

Scientific Journal of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW Problems of World Agriculture is an open-access journal. All papers are freely available online immediately via the journal website. The journal applies Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial License (Creative Commons CC BY-NC), that allows for others to remix or otherwise alter the original material (with proper attribution), provided that they are not using it for any commercial purpose.
